Sometimes, direct on-site packaging is the most efficient and quickest solution. Effa offers this dedicated service, managing the entire packaging process and providing the necessary equipment. Once the packaging is complete, all the customer needs to do is proceed with shipment.

The treatment consists of four key steps:

  • 01.
  • Preparation

The wood is placed in a special kiln and arranged to ensure even heat distribution.

  • 02.
  • Heating

The wood is heated to an internal temperature of at least 56°C. This temperature is maintained constantly for at least 30 minutes, ensuring the complete elimination of all undesirable organisms.

  • 03.
  • Cooling

Once the process is complete, the wood is slowly cooled.

  • 04.
  • Marking

Each batch of material undergoing treatment is then stamped with a special mark certifying its conformity.

This type of treatment is exclusively for wood packaging, such as pallets, boxes and crates. This procedure is not required for plywood, OSB and cardboard packaging.

Phytosanitary treatment

Exporting outside Europe requires strict compliance standards, particularly when it comes to wooden packaging. Effa performs phytosanitary heat treatment (HT) in compliance with the Fitok ISPM15 FAO certification, ensuring your packaging is ready for export without any problems. Heat treatment is a process that involves exposing the wood to high temperatures for a specific period of time in order to eliminate potentially harmful pests and pathogens.
